Founded in 1977 by Phillip Church & David Hawes, Church & Hawes is one of the oldest firms of Estate Agents in Essex. 

In 1977 the story began when the Maldon branch opened its doors. Since that date the company has evolved into numerous branches covering Mid Essex to the East Coast. Autumn 2016 saw the opening of our latest office in Wickham Bishops. 

After Phillip and David retired the company was taken over by three directors, Glenn Church, Robert Wells and Paul Rayfield. Between them they have been with Church & Hawes almost 90 years. Each director is ‘hands on’, ensuring that the original values and trust that Church & Hawes are renowned for remain today, as they were originally in 1977. 

The way properties are marketed and sold has changed dramatically over the years. Today, Church & Hawes is still a most dynamic and professional business with an enviable reputation, remaining an independent company, and offering a personal service tailor-made to meet the specific needs of each client.
